Flatten Layers flattens all first-level layers and groups while preserving the appearance of the final image, even if they have adjustment layers, crop masks, vectors, text, smart objects, filters, grouped layers, global adjustments, masks channel or applied styles.

This tool uses the best method to flatten layers and all applied effects, including blending modes and adjustment layers. In complex sequences of layers with a lot of transparency and blend modes, the best possible result will be achieved, usually identical to the original. Sometimes, however, overlapping transparencies with applied effects can cause color overlap. For these cases, the tool provides options to avoid blending modes or adjustment layers, if necessary.
